Islamabad, October 01, 2013: 10th Round of Pakistan-Afghanistan Parliamentarians Dialogue-X began in Islamabad today under the Co-Chairpersonship of Honourable Mr. Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, MNA, Convener Pakistan-Afghanistan Friendship Group in the National Assembly of Pakistan and Honourable Mr. Mirwais Yasini, First Deputy Speaker of the Wolesi Jirga (House of People), Afghanistan.

A 6- member delegation of the Afghan Wolesi Jirga took part discussion on the first day of the Pak-Afghan Parliamentarians Dialogue-X, under the Leadership of Honourable Mr. Mirwais Yasini, First Deputy Speaker of the Wolesi Jirga (House of People), included Honourable Mr. Abdul Latif Pedram, Member, Commission on Oversight of the Implementation of the Law and Central Audit, Wolesi Jirga, Honourable Mr. Alam Qarar, Member Internal Affairs Commission, Wolesi Jirga, Honourable Mr. Allah Gul Mojahed, Member, Complaints and Petitions Commission, Wolesi Jirga, Honourable Mr. Mahmood Khan Sulaimankhail, Member, Complaints and Petitions Commission, Wolesi Jirga and Honourable Haji Sakhi Meshwani, Member of Wolesi Jirga.

Since 2008, PILDAT has been facilitating a dialogue series between Parliamentarians of Pakistan and Afghanistan. To-date, 9 dialogues between Pak-Afghan MPs have been facilitated by PILDAT that periodically take place in the capitals of the two countries. The 10th Round of the Dialogue is the latest in the series of such dialogues and has been facilitated so as to promote greater understanding on specific issues that continue to shape Pakistan-Afghanistan relations.
