Islamabad, November 20; After successfully running the Youth Parliament Pakistan on the national basis since 2007, PILDAT has now launched the first-ever Youth Provincial Assembly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (YPA-KP) focused only at the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. The Youth Provincial Assembly-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (YPA-KP), a PILDAT initiative to inculcate the culture and values of democracy in youth of Pakistan, has now initiated its induction process. |

Young domicile-holders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who are minimum 18 years to maximum 29 years of age on January 01, 2013, are invited to submit Expressions of Interest online at http://www.ypa-kp.pk through the prescribed form to become a Member of the Youth Provincial Assembly-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Youth Provincial Assembly-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a mock Assembly patterned after the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and will consist of 40 young men and women representing the 25 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in proportion to the population. The YPA-KP will have an approximate One-year term and will meet for 16 days over 4 sessions at Peshawar. |

The YPA-KP will follow its own two-Party System, an elected Youth Chief Minister, Youth Provincial Leader of the Opposition, a Youth Provincial Cabinet, a Youth Shadow Provincial Cabinet and Standing Committees. |

Members of the Youth Provincial Assembly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, once selected, will be provided with opportunities to interact with the decision-makers of the Province including Provincial Legislators and Elected Executive and Judicial branches of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Members will also undergo a simulated exercise while they will be encouraged to prepare and present policy proposals to the Provincial Cabinet, Provincial Assembly and various Government Departments on national and provincial issues affecting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. |

While the Youth Provincial Assembly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is managed by PILDAT (www.pildat.org), an Independent Steering Committee oversees the selection process based on strict criteria of merit. Members of the Youth Parliament Steering Committee include Mr. Faisal Karim Kundi, MNA, Deputy Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan; Mr. Kiramat ullah Khan, MPA, Speaker Provincial Assembly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Wazir Ahmed Jogezai, Former Deputy Speaker, National Assembly of Pakistan and Mr. Ahmed Bilal Mehboob, President PILDAT. |
