> Federal, Provincial and Local Governments:
Demarcation of Roles, Issues and Possible Solutions |
PILDAT recently organised a two-day workshop for the Members of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab on Federal Provincial and Local Governments: Demarcation of Roles, Issues and Possible Solutions. The workshop was held at Hotel Avari Lahore, on September 29 & 30, 2003 from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. |
The rationale behind the workshop was to raise the awareness and knowledge of elected legislators about the working and role of federal, provincial and local governments. The workshop did not aim to propagate a certain view but to bring to light the constitutional demarcation of roles of three tiers of governments, their demarcation as well as present available perspectives on the issues relating to these. A large number of MPAs attended the workshop. The exercise was carried out with an objective to add to the understanding of MPAs so as to assist them in better policy making.

Participation in the workshop was by invitation only and was reserved for members of the Punjab Assembly. |
