The Citizens Group on Electoral Process, a non-partisan Group of eminent Pakistanis facilitated by PILDAT to monitor the electoral process, is to undertake a Fact Finding Mission to District Attock on Tuesday, January 15, 2008.

The CGEP Fact Finding Mission, under the leadership of Justice (Retd.) Saeed uz Zaman Siddiqui, Chairman CGEP, will include other CGEP members Dr. Ijaz Shafi Gilani, Chairman Gallup, Pakistan; Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Moinuddin Haider, Former Governor Sindh; Mr. Rahimullah Yusufzai, Journalist and Analyst, Mr. Shahid Hamid, Former Governor Punjab, Syed Tallat Hussain, Analyst and Anchor, Mr. Ahmed Bilal Mehboob, PILDAT Executive Director and Ms. Aasiya Riaz, PILDAT Joint Director.

The CGEP Fact Finding Mission will interact with candidates contesting the upcoming election for the National Assembly and the Provincial Assembly of Punjab belonging to different political parties. The CGEP Fact Finding Mission to Attock includes meetings with District Nazim, DCO, the District Returning Officer, the ECP representative and the local news media at Attock.

The Citizens Group will be preparing and issuing a report based on its findings of the fact-finding mission.
